- Expression of Interest are invited for Support for Drafting Türkiye's National Energy Efficiency Vision and Strategy, and Action Plan The World Bank has been requested by Government of Türkiye, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR), to provide financial and technical support for public consultations for and preparation of the key policy documents, namely the National Energy Efficiency (EE) Vision and Strategy, and the second National Energy Efficiency Action Plan or NEEAP (2024-2030). In line with the sustainable development goals and European Union-s energy efficiency policies and legislation, the first NEEAP was prepared in 2017 to achieve the targets set by the Energy Efficiency Strategy Paper published in 2012. The first NEEAP aimed to invest approximately 11 billion dollars in all sectors, save 23.9 Mtoe of energy cumulatively and avoid 66 million tons of CO2 equivalent in the 2017-2023 period. The implementation of the first NEEAP was successful, with an achievement of 97% of the targeted savings so far. Therefore, the government now plans to develop Türkiye-s EE Vision and Strategy through 2030 and analyze and define the investments and actions needed to realize this vision.
